What do these classes include?

  • In both the Primary (ages 4 & 5) & PreBallet (6 & older) , classes are based on a ballet technique class to prepare student for further dance training and create a foundation of movement. Classes begin with a structured warm up, proceed to simple stretching to warm up the joints, continue with across the floor skills, and finish with a fun dance but one with a purpose.

How long are the classes?

  • Young dancers meet once a week for a 45 minute ballet class. At the appropriate time, PreBallet children may add an optional 30 minute tap class.

When are the classes?

  • The new class schedule comes out in May of each year. Primary classes are usually scheduled at 4:30 or 4:45, PreBallet the same or possibly 5:15. We realize these are early time for working parents but even a 6:00 class often becomes too late for young children.

What is the tuition?

  • Tuition is $45.00 per month.

What should my child wear?

  • We have a dress code for all of our dancers. Dancers are expected to be neat & clean & must be properly dressed for each class. Please check our Dancewear page.

Where do I get dancewear?

  • The studio stocks all required dancewear as a convenience to our students.

Hair in a bun?

  • A bun is not necessary for these little ones however, their hair should be pulled back off the face & up off the neck. A neat ponytail or braid is fine.

What if my child isn’t ready?

  • Separation anxiety is normal for young children. It may take a few lessons for your child to be comfortable in class but we work on that as part of the lesson. Nearly all children are acclimated to the class within a few weeks.
